Thank you for this guide, it is extremely helpful!
You're welcome!  Glad you found it useful!

Thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions.  I haven't done much to the guide in the last couple weeks but I expect to get a good bit done this weekend.  I've finished adding the names of indicators on Page 6 and I incorporated some of the suggestions already made.  When there's a CHDKGuideInProgress02.pdf available I'll announce it...so stop checking for it! (LOL)

Really great, Graystar!
This makes CHDK a complete user-friendly "package" of the sort I would expect to pay great money for.
Beautiful work!

I noticed the following after a quick read-through:

p. 27: under: "Subject distance from lens [enable / disable]"
          it says: "{--unknown function}"
          suggestion: "When enabled, causes all distances to be measured from the lens
                              instead of the sensor" *

p. 28: under: "Show RAW State [enable / disable]"
          it says: "Enables capture of RAW data."
          suggestion: "Toggles OSD RAW indicator on/off"

* Allbest implemented this some months ago; I remember him explaining it in post, but haven't been able
   to find it. You might want to PM him to check if it's really sensor, or maybe camera back or focal plane

@Graystar

I found the original announcement by Allbest ... Build 31

Quote
+Capability to see subject distance from front surface of lens (useful for macro). Corresponding menu key added (DOF Calculator->Subject distance from lens)
Setting of this value exerts influence on all operations with focus distance. For example basic command 'set_focus' will be set focus distance from lens!

Hi,

Thanks for the great guide.  One feature that I just learned about and isn't in the guide: (from the Wiki CHDK firmware usage/AllBest):
# 7 New/Special Short-cut Keys

    * 7.1 Quick-Set Hyperfocal & Infinite Manual Focus Distances
    * 7.2 Quick Input Unit-Value Selector

Thanks for pointing that out hiker_jon.  I'll make sure that gets in the next version.

Graystar, great guide!!  I loved it so much that I created a new wikia page for it, so that the whole community will be aware...  I linked to it off of the AllBest Usage wiki page too.  Cheers!

That way, when you update this guide, you just need to make a quick edit to this wiki page, and people can be notified of when it changes...
