I'm a noob attempting to dump the 500D/T1i firmware, but have had little luck yet. I'll elaborate in a separate thread

Hello,
I know this thread has been quiet, but I thought I'd post in case someone goes looking to dump new S95 firmwares. I was finally successful in dumping 1.00k using Bernd R's guidelines on preparing the card. First download common_files.zip from download on the SDM page: http://stereo.jpn.org/eng/sdm/index.htm

"1. start sdminste.exe (you must be Admin)

make sure you use a Card with not more as 4 GB.
select your SD Card letter, if the correct one is not detect.

If your Card is not format click format.

2. click button "make bootable Disk".
3. click button "Set Script Flag"
4. click button "SD Boot Sector Write"

5. Copy the files script.req and extend.m to your bootable sd Card.
6. now insert the SD Card in Camera and
   when you start your camera in play mode, and press func/set Button of Camera,
   the Firmware should be store on SD Card
 "

I used the universal dumper in the extend.m file. The dump seems to be successful.

Yet another noob with an A3400 this time, trying to dump 1.01b. I need it so I can use CHDK-PT to update a CHDK build for my FW, I'm basing it off the 1.00F build already available for the A3400. I'm a little stumped right now, but I'll upload to my Box.net as soon as I get this thing dumped. If anyone can help in any way, please PLEASE PM me.
