:/ So... still looking for guidance here.

Edit: I was suggested saving in DNG format, is that the same thing as RAW?

Yes, DNG is a raw format, and CHDK DNG contains the same data as CHDK raw. Unlike CHDK raw, it is a standard format so many more tools handle it correctly. If DNG works correctly on your camera, it is usually the best choice. The main disadvantage is that DNG saving time is a bit longer than CHDK raw, and the color calibration on some cameras isn't very good.

You should generally post questions in your own thread, the sticky topics get very hard to follow if there's a lot of different things being addressed.

Many existing scripts work on most cameras, but if you have specific problems with a particular one, you should start a new thread for that issue. You may find reports of which cameras a script is known to work on in that scripts wiki page or forum post. The wiki page and development thread for your camera will also have some reports. http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/SX200 is the wiki page, and it links the development thread.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

I have a Canon SX200 IS with 1.00D Firmware. And loaded "sx200is-100d-0.9.9-955-full".
But it says 100C in the pop up image at the startup.

Is this normal or is something wrong?

I got the answer to the showing 100C problem from here :  :)
Also these versions both use the same CHDK code, when you load 1.00d CHDK it reports as 1.00c.
This is because only 1.00c is coded and built but a copy is then renamed as 1.00d

But there are some issues with the CHDK which are,

1) Appearing green ghosting when the shutter is half pressed  :o**** Of which I m most concerned*****  :o

2) and zooming out all the way back automatically sometimes when shooting videos.

I m going to stop using the CHDK unless someone say it's normal for the current version of CHDK for SX200 IS or give a link to a more stable version.  :(

Thank you for your help.

It seems as if the "Edge Overlay" feaure is enabled; delete the CHDK config file \CHDK\cchdk.cfg & try again...

Hi

I have purchased a G11 3 months ago. Now that I want to use CHDK for it, I see that its firmware is "1.0.0.0" which is not compatible with any of the firmwares in G11 page. Does anubody know what's wrong with it (or maybe with me!!)??

Regards,

1.0.0.0 is not your fw version. Read the FAQ/other instructions a little bit deeper to find out one of the ways to find out what it really is...

Try ACID - it will not only tell you the version but download the right build for you. See http://www.zenoshrdlu.com/acid/acid.html

I tried the ACID and it says: "No firmware revision information in photo". (Of course, I've dragged the photo to the software from my PC desktop not from the camera memory card.)

@robie.1980

Strange - though I think someone else had a similar problem.

Could you double-click the acid.properties file (in the same folder as the acid app) and add the line:
  debug=yes
then run ACID again (and try another photo too).

You should see a bit more information in the log - could you copy and paste it into an email and send it to me  daveATzenoshrdlu.com?

IMHO it's better to use a JPG straight from the card, or, if you must use one from your PC, use one that
has never been opened with image manipulation software - quite a few programs will fool around with
your EXIF data even when just opening/viewing your pics in them.

I'm really confused as to where I should post this question, so I guess I'll try here and see what happens.  I am about to acquire an sx130 is, and haven't seen that model listed for a hack.  Am I not looking in the right places, or can I use the hack for the sx100?  Thanks.
