Overrides and hafl shutter press
« on: 29 / April / 2009, 03:22:29 »
Sorry if this was asked before, but I cannot find the answer.

Question is. if I override, for example TV to 5 sec, I get "TV:5.00000" on CHDK's OSD.
But when I half press shutter, OSD changes to the internal camera value.

When I full press, camera's TV is overrided by CHDK's one, but I cannot understand this half press behaviour

Is a bug or it works as intended?

Interesting... Probably this is a bug.
So, your camera is S5IS with 1.01A or 1.01B firmware version?

Test version (and patch) is attached to this post.

With the same example: tv overriden to 5 sec

When I half press button, CHDK OSD changes to Canon TV (for example, 1.00000), and then quickly changes again to 4.96743. It's not the same value as shown when no pressing, but it's a lot better now!

Thank you very much

Canon OSD must also show 5" when shuter is half-pressed.

Yes, it does.
When override is inside the official values, both canon and CHKD OSDs show override when shuter is half-pressed.
When I force over maximum "standard" value (15"), Canon OSD shows the maximum (15") , and CHDK OSD shows correct value. The same for minimum "standard" value (1/3200)

It works nice now. Thanks again :)
