I have Tested to Compile it with the CDK-Shell.
But i can't Insert it, so that i can Klick on a Check Button for the IS200IS. It was not Shown.

I wait for the Porting from a Spezalist.

glad to know I am not alone here,
the sources I posted are NOT for general use, they are just the first attempts, they are for use by developers.
You need to wait until a beta is released for testing.

I have moved on from those sources, corrected a memory allocation error but still get garbage as a splash.
I will keep trying.

The Raw and bracket features as well as USB remote are what I want as well.

you are definitely not alone. i also loaded your dump into ida and tried my luck. but my c skills are kind of not available. so i guess i will not have that much of a chance. but i own the sx200is and would love to have chdk running on it. but thanx to oldgit for all your efforts so far. if i can help somehow just let me know....

what I am looking for is to change the way the flash pop up works, and add AE lock to "stitch assist" and the way it works.  Is this sort of thing possible?

RAW and bracketing would also be a nice addition, I miss this from my old cannon.

The flash popup seems to be entirely mechanical. Every time the lens is zooming out on start, the flash will pop out if you don't held your Finger on it. Don't think, that it has something to do with the software, thats a hardware related feature (It's the revenge of an underpaid designer if you ask me).

If you want to improve the hardware immediately, you can tape the flash down with a length of tape. Thats foolproof and works well ^^

From the experience above you can tell i have the camera as well. Bracketing, RAW format,  AE lock in the stitch assitant and more than 10 pics in the custom timer section will be great for a start.
1080p Video mode (with the new 30Mbit/s SDHC cards) and quality adjust will be ultimate

thanks for the support.
I am still working through the boot process, after that autoboot, dual partition support, then main (standard CHDK) features.
At some point we will need LOTS of testing so if anybody is willing to do some please keep watching.

As regards the flash, yes that *$*@*~*?* popup flash is so stupid, with the size of my hands I've almost droped the camera a few times when it activated. I have seen things in the software like "Strobe Up" and "Strobe Down" but I think these are confirmation signals not commands, Haven't investigated yet, thats for later.

As soon as this thing boots correctly for me we can all start "playing".

it seems that it must have at least some sensor for feedback since we all know that if you hold it closed you get a message telling you that the flash is stuck.   There must be some kind of release and hopfully its on its own output and not directly linked to anything else.

Ultimately what would be fantastic is that if flash is disabled on the camera  then it stays down.  Fingers crossed hey.

Also with AE lock it seems under normal use it only stays active for a single shot or for a series of continious shots (both modes)  So for stitch assist you would want the AE lock active for the "set" of panaramic shots.

Anyways I am eager to help out when things are ready for testing.

I have been lurking a bit as well recently. I bought mine a month ago but it has the 1.00D firmware.

I'll try to get the necessary parts on Saturday to make the hardware for dumping the firmware via rs232.
Or is there already a way to dump it directly to SD card?

I'm still new to this so not sure if it will be successful...

yes the option to stop that flash (maybe a configurable user preference) would be nice.

It would good if one of the more experienced Devs could look at the 100C dump and find the required info to make udumper work with these newer cams. Blinking the firmware out is VERY time consuming.

As I understand it (and I could be wrong) udumper "finds" the call in the firmware that writes to the SD card directly.
It finds this by looking for a signature, or set of bytes within memory. On the newer cams including SX200, this signature is not being found.

Canon must have altered the function, but if the equivalant function can be identified then udumper could be made to work, Maybe !

If you want to try blinking I would suggest you try the simple method first, just a photo diode, I used rs232 because I had to not as a preference.

Good news for you is that if / when we get 100C completed then the port for 100D should be a lot more straight forward.

There could just be a microswitch to let the camera know if it is open, without a separate actuator to unlatch it.

I also bought an SX200, just a few days ago. I used the CHDK with my old Canon camera before that and I also mainly miss bracketing and also long-time exposure on the new model. And of course, the flash gets on my nerves. ^^ I noticed that if you keep it closed by foce, the flash selection setting is deactivated.

I'll try to help as well, definitely at least with testing, but as I am a software developer, I'll have a look at the development wiki. However, I didn't do much in the past year with C/C++, also I am not experienced with device firmware programming.
OldGit, thanks for all the work so far! Do you have any specific tasks right now with the uploaded code, that you need people to have a look at?
