SX1 IS with CHDK can't record more then 29'59'' sec??

in fact, reading that carefully again, 'start video recording' could be interpreted 2 ways:

1) set the cam to HD video recording mode (cam is waiting for you to press shutter)

2) as 1) but also start recording

If you have interpreted ewavr's instructions as in 2) then try again as in 1)

And yes, it's normal that <Alt> mode blocks all 'normal' cam response while you are in video or photo
shooting mode

I done that way to, but when it show 35'00'' camera goes for a second black screen - busy and then turn off.

When I turn on the camera there's nothing on the memory card.

OK, then i guess you have to wait for ewavr's comments ... maybe he has more ASM magic up his sleeve for this ?

Yesterday I've installed CHDK and was trying everything to record more then 30 minutes of continuous recording of HD movies, but couldn't do it.

I tried with quality 50, 30, 25, 15 but every time when it comes to 29'50' the numbers become red and is recording for just another 10 seconds and then stops.
What is the problem?
Does anybody know how to set CHDK to record more then 1h of continuous movie?

Can I quickly ask, do the video quality settings work with your SX1 ok or not? Can you record at higher bitrate than is default for HD video (without CHDK) or not? Thanks.
