Because only two people were responsible for doing all the main CHDK coding, yourself and VitalyB .. and no-one knows who VitalyB is   :)

With your solid foundation and the discoveries by Ewavr, it is relatively easy for others to add new features.

(actually, the article does mention Whim)

    Russian developers remember him...

  • just had an interesting talk with Peter Meerwald from University of Salzburg. Apparently in a paper of his ( http://www.cosy.sbg.ac.at/~pmeerw/Watermarking/psivt09/psivt09_paper.pdf ) he uses CHDK to watermark pictures. his demo is based on a very old revision and supposedly it isnt very fast, but it works - in camera watermarking! which is very close to a feature i wish for for a long time: in-camera signing of pictures.
anyhows, interesting read, i can really recommend it. and perhaps this will spawn a new feature in chdk one day, once optimized :)

just to clarify, it's not from or supported by Canon. It's a hack from Wikia Technology.

this shows CHDK looks so professional, it must come from canon. it also shows that it isnt just a "russian hack" anymore but coming from a big corporation called wikia technology  :lol

    sweet.
