Motion detection on G9 portrait mode
« on: 08 / June / 2010, 12:53:51 »
I used my G9 with motion script first in landscape mode, it worked fine but looking back it was busy from the start. My next attempt i put my camera in portrait mode and tested by hand movement (very quite). As soon as the display went down it froze and no button press or hand in front would wake it. Putting it back in landscape mode awoke it finaly. Is there a setting in menu i am missing?

Since motion detection works by examining the lcd display pixels, you MUST have the screen on for it to work. You need to ensure the display stays on. Try setting "disable LCD off" in the miscellaneous parameters menu.
