G9 Mute During Zooming

This mode does not appear for the G9. I was planning on zooming during some movies today at an anniversary party! Can this feature be added at some point?

Are you recording audio separately (so the microphone being used isn't next to the lens and full of the sound of the zoom motor) and then re-integrating it in post-production?
If you're not, then allowing the lens to zoom during video isn't actually going to be all that useful.

I can't comment about whether other people are interested in it or whether there are technical issues involved as well as just developer time/effort.

Not doing that. Just asking for a feature that already exists for other CHDK enabled Canons, and which could be useful for me from time to time.

Well, I thought I'd give this another try - does no one else want Mute During Zoom for Video capture on the G9?

If I weren't afraid of completely botching up the code I'd try it myself, but me and code have not been friends in the past.

it was a standard feature of CHDK to select ("mute while zooming") when I had my A710is, missing it too for my S95 now
