Colour Palette - Anger?

ASM and I have been working on the SX210 (More ASM then I) and it appears we yet again have another colour palette.

Just a FYI and discussion point if anyone thinks there is a different way to handle this growing list of defs.

I guess there are at least two (if not more) colour palettes  .. record and playback modes.

For what it is worth, in SDM I currently have seven palettes.

I started to look back for prior solutions and noticed how much this has already been discussed.  Sorry for what in reality is just a rehash.  :(
