Displayed the Firmware version using the VER.REQ method on my IXUS 400.
My IXUS 400 displays "Error 38F6" under the firmware revision (2.00F).
The camera does work though  Huh?

Does anyone know what this Code means ?

Bummer ! CHDK is not supported by the S400 Sad

Hi andre, according to the Unsupported Cameras wiki page: Unsupported Cameras - CHDK Wiki

Your camera will never be supported as CHDK only supports Digic II and Digic III (at this stage). The Unsupported Cameras page states that old models would never be supported by CHDK because of their architecture.

Ok, won't install that. But, has anyone access to the error codes ? What does the error code mean ?

In service manual for ixus400 only codes like E18 are listed  Sad

That's normal. as far as I know the error logged in that file is the last error that occurred. It might have happened weeks ago.
