CHDK for the S110 supports "Override Aperture" (as it does for the S80,S90, S95, and S100).

EDIT : and clearly my previous explanation about Maximum Aperture specifications isn't sufficient when the vendors' camera spec bizarrely omits that it has an actual adjustable aperture

If a camera physically has an adjustable aperture, but does not show aperture override options in the CHDK menu, this is a bug in the port which should be reported and fixed. This is a property of the CHDK build, not a problem with installation.

This has certainly happened in the past, but IMO most if not all current ports in the official autobuilds are correct, since we can generally tell which hardware is present from the firmware (discussed in https://chdk.setepontos.com/d/13228/87)

The SX620 has the ND related tasks and not the iris ones, so is almost certainly correctly defined as an ND only cam.

Test build attached based on current 1.6 code base.
I don't have this camera so this is untested; but most of the work is handled by code-gen. I have updated some stubs values after comparing to the 1.00b version.

Hi there, I just joined you as an owner of a SX620HS with FW 100B. Downloaded and tried the CHDK for my camera.
I had troubles in getting the DNG saved with the "timer" set on. It seems that it works fine in normal "P" mode, but when I add a timer (I want to take seeries of photos), both the JPEG and the DNG are unreadable. Has it finally been tested by anyone?
Maybe I'm doing something wrong or maybe it doesn't work. Is there anything that I should know to make it work or may it be some non-working feature? Is there any way I can help making it work?

I really don't know what the current status of that camera is.
I assume that your problem is related to the speed of writing to the SD card. Saving DNG files takes much longer than saving jpeg files, on slower cards and on cameras with high resolutions it can take up to 8 seconds. If you are shooting a series of images, try so that the time between two shots is, say, 10 seconds, maybe that will show some the difference.
Maybe member @reyalp has another idea or maybe already knows the solution to that problem.

EDIT:As far as I can see in the source code, recording of raw and dng files is disabled in Hybrid auto, Handheld night scene, Highspeed burst and Low light shooting modes.

Actually, when I just started the camera, start CHDK and activate RAW/DNG save, then I shoot in P mode, it saves both JPEG and .DNG (in Black&White)
(no raw, but I understood that it is normal). It takes more time, but it's OK.
Then I activate a timer (even the 2 seconds - 1 shoot timer), and shoot a photo. It still takes time, it still briefly shows the photo taken once writing files is over, then goes back to idle. However, it saves both JPEG and DNG, but both are unreadable from either the camera or from my computer, or even from "develop DNG" feature.
Then I switch back to P mode, and I gont the same behavior: pictures are unreadable.
If I shutown the camera and restart it, I also get unreadable pictures, even in P mode, even without CHDK.
It seems that I need to format my SD card to get back to normal behavior.

That sounds like hell.
Can you please share the unreadable jpg and dng files with us?
The forum cannot accept such large files, so you have to upload them to Google Drive or somewhere else and share the download link.
What happens if you remove the battery from the camera for 30 seconds and unlock the card by moving the slider to the unlocked position?
This should erase any trace of chdk from the camera memory, if the jpg is still unreadable I assume the problem is in the camera hardware.

I'm not cleat what you mean by "in Black& white" and "no raw"
It should not be possible for a CHDK DNG to actually be black and white, so if you mean the DNG appears black and white, please tell us how you are viewing the DNG. If you mean something else, please explain or post an example.
As for "no raw", if you mean you don't get a raw file in addition to DNG, that is indeed normal. DNG is raw format, so if you have it enabled, that's how CHDK raw is saved.

When you say "unreadable" do you mean you get a file error, or an image is displayed but contains some garbage, or something else? As blackhole says, examples images would be helpful (if you get an image at all)

The "develop DNG" feature takes a CHDK DNG and makes a new jpeg, so that would not be expected to produce anything useful if the DNG is bad.

Yeah, you're right. So I investigated a bit more... and found where it came from.

Actually I must apologize... ...as it seems that it was my SD card that was faulty. 😖
Unfortunately, it happened that I took 2 photos in P mode and those have been placed in good sectors of the SD card, and after that I switched to another mode and it was written at a bad place. And unfortunately I did it several times and it gave me always the same result. Now I took another SD card and it works well!
Thank you again for your help and sorry again for bothering you with a non-issue.
I will now continue my tests of CHDK in better conditions 😀
