Got remote capture to work by feeding power to the USB. I wonder if I can build a switch that uses USB voltage from the cam to trigger the capture?...anyone done this already?

Just enable all of your remote parameters in the Miscellaneous menu, and plug your camera into a good USB power source. Disable remote to transfer files to and fro camera...

Make sure you shoot in low ISO away from any light pollution 20 to 60 seconds will get good astro-pics. You also need a rock solid tripod...

How did you guys get dng files saved? Whats bad_b.exe?

after running once badpixel lua script, enable raw section with noise correction and dng format.

raw mode is not complete. sometimes i got good dng files, sometimes just "purple noise"..

And looking for chdk-files for this camera =)

Nothing so far just testing... See post #48 in this thread for the link for the .BIN file. I can load it and it works. Now I have to test it!

This is by no means a fully functional chdk for our cams.

sorry for my newbie question, but
- I downloaded binfile 1.00C, stored it on flash
- copy CHDK dir from smth other camera chdk
- create empry ver.req( works fine)
- make flash bootable
- Lock ON flash and succesfully boot the camera

it writes that flash is locked, so i can photo nothing

How can i enter the chdk menu ? or check: if the bootfile booted on ixus90is or not?
(i pressed "print" button , it did nothing except standart functions)

Looks like your card is not Canon bootable (that is not the same as DOS / Windows bootable):

try CardTricks (see my sig) to do that

I made card bootable with CardTricks then I copy files on it, locked it on and powered on camera.

If i use other bootbin file, my camera siimply was blinking 2 times and die
If i use binfile 1.00C from http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/SD790IS , camera was booting normaly ( like it seems with locked flash)

What should i do ( in camera menu) to understand that bootfile was booted properly? Thx

Just download the Complete package from the Autobuild server, the script is included there (in \CHDK\SCRIPTS\TEST)

if CHDK was booted OK, you press Alt (probably 'Direct Print') -> "<Alt>" should appear bottom center of screen.
then press "Menu" and the CHDK menu should appear ...

No, but it does matter to have the exact firmware version:

PS this is not meant to be unfriendly, but if you want to get a beta version to run on your cam, you need to at least
get a bit of base CHDK know-how together, otherwise it becomes really hard to make heads or tails of what
is discussed in the porting threads ...
