@dvip, confirmed, same problem exist long time. I think accu problem first, but no. With very high quality fresh cell, problem same. My problem too, shooting mode with startup, crash sometimes. No idea why.

One startup crach kill my pictures on memory card. The camera says memory card error. After create new partition, and format the card working properly again. Cannot reproduce. The memory card is ok. I tested with PC and card reader and camera too .With thios card, normal startup problem exist without picture problem sometimes. I use different memory card, normal startup problem exist without picture problem sometimes.

If you can try philmoz startup crash fix and report whether it fixes or reduces the problem, that would be useful. I think you just need to define CAM_STARTUP_CRASH_FILE_OPEN_FIX 1 for your camera.

thanks, i add this line to camera.h and recompile the source. The new build working, no crash. But requies many test. This error randomly occured.

I have noticed that there is a problem when displaying the menu with lots of words.
In the lower right corner of the image to see what I think.Problem not there when he selected the English language.
Rev.1132 doing well but not 1141.
Where is the problem?

I just tested Purge RAW with a590-101b-0.9.9-1152-full.zip and it didn't work.
It works fine if you select all files (Select inverse) and do a delete.

FWIW purge raw is only supposed to delete raws that do not have a jpeg with the same number (can happen when you delete jpegs with the canon UI)

It should also work on the entire DCIM directory, or an individual NNNCANON sub directory.

Anyway, if it didn't trash your filesystem, I guess that's a good sign.

If I understand correctly, you are saying this script does not work on a590 ? If so, can you explain what part doesn't work ? Also, posting the specific script you are using would help. A link to where you got it or the file as an attachment.

Or are you asking whether this script will work ? If so, try it and let us know 😉

A460, A480, A 540, A 720 is no problem

If you want help, you need to explain *how* it is not working. You start the script, then what happens ?

This is a very simple script, it should work on any camera. The comments on the talk page are mostly years old.

Begins, making the first shot in accordance with setting the timer.

After that just works, but the pictures do not. Regardless of the setting. Just waiting for something. It may stand for very long. Specifically waited for 15 minutes (to set the timer for a few seconds). After interruption of the script writes

But pointed out other options. Such work does not depend on other settings (focus, and etc)

Expected cycle time evaluates true. Before shooting, shows
1 Cycle Time 0 min 18 sec

Looks like it's a bug, introduced in 1166

For now, setting "shoot delay" in the script menu > 0 should fix it.

Another possible bug is that you can't get exit_alt() in lua to exit a script.
Something like this:

set_aflock(1) -- makes AF scan and locks AF
sleep(3000) -- wait a while
shoot() -- shoot without AF
sleep(3800)
set_aflock(0) -- unlock AF
exit_alt()

gets stuck in the script and you need to enter <alt> mode
and then press the shutter button to exit and run the script again.
Shouldn't exit_alt() exit alt mode and send you back to normal so you can run the script again?
