I used the Ubuntu method and that worked. But using this method (according to the instructions) does not hide the smaller partition, so the recommendation is to dl the images while the card is still in the camera.
I don't understand the question. Linux has no problem with multiple partitions on removable media, you can mount either or both as you wish. On my ubuntu box they are both mounted automatically.
Should have been more clear. I'm normally on a Win7 x64 platform. I tried the other methods described (aefdisk / Beeblebrox NT and I think the SDM method) and none of them worked with my 8GB Sandisk and my
G9. I felt like I had nothing to lose trying the Ubuntu method from a CD-run copy. But as I normally put my SD cards in a USB reader I'm now left with the thought that if I want to do it that way I still have to try to "hide" the CHDK partition or else Win7 will not see the larger partition with the images. But I think "hiding" the partition may have been part of what was causing me problem on my
G9 - I kept getting "Memory Card Error" with these other techniques (having said that I'm not really sure if it
was because of hiding the first partition). For whatever reason I'm not seeing that with the SD card prepped using the Ubuntu method.
