xavan Thank you Neszt for your remarks, so I have to make some adjustments to my RS232 converter. I did the dump twice and I got 2 identical files (checked with fc); What program do you use to check the CRC ?
neszt xavan Thank you Neszt for your remarks, so I have to make some adjustments to my RS232 converter. I did the dump twice and I got 2 identical files (checked with fc); What program do you use to check the CRC ? I used dec.exe in the http://chdk.neszt.hu/blinker.zip which reads the "dump" file as input and generates "dump.dat" as output. I saw the very begining of the file and i supposed that the dump is in that format.
opticron xavan: was there anything in particular you had to do to get the camera to recognize the diskboot.bin? I'm starting to think I should just find an adapter so I can use cardtricks on my card. Is that what you did?
michelcannu Guys, I just want to wish good luck with your endeavor and to hope with all my heart that you will succeed quickly with the GM 1.02B firmware. I'm also waiting for it and I'm very impatient to use it... 😀) Thanks!
Lectrichead Me too, I miss all the features of of CHDK that I had with my previous Canon when using my new SX20.
f_m_b @xavan congratulation for "blinking-out" the new firmware. 😀 What is the next step? Disassembling the code? I tried to disassemble the dump file with idafree version 4.9. on windows xp. But i can't choose an arm processor? What kind of disassembler with arm support do you use? Bye Frank
fe50 Hello & welcome, Frank ! f_m_b I tried to disassemble the dump file with idafree version 4.9. on windows xp. But i can't choose an arm processor? What kind of disassembler with arm support do you use? You need IDA Pro - the free version don't have ARM support. See also CHDK wikia: GPL tools
neszt xavan Here is the good one (I hope so . . .) http://ufbteam.com/private/SX20_1.02B_dump.zip Seems ok, CRC ok, but wait a little bit, because i can not produce correct produce dump yet. I ask help from radup. The processed dump should begin with "...egaonisoy"
xavan I have compared the location of "egaonisoy" for the sx20_GM1.00F" and SX20_1.02B dumps. - For the unprocessed dumps "êgaonisoy" (with ê) is found in both cases 14 bytes after the series of 123456789. - For the processed dumps with dec.exe, I have also found "ègaonisoy" (with è) at the same location (00078D9B) in both cases.
neszt xavan The SX20_1.02B dump processed with a.exe starts with "...egaonisoy". Good. Please link the file, and i'll check.
xavan Here is the link for the dump (SX20_1.02B) processed by a.exe http://www.mediafire.com/?2roytuzkjvx
thurston I too have an SX20 with 1.02B and am anxiously following this thread. Great work everyone, I'll test any beta (alpha?) that you get compiled!
beegdaddy thurston I too have an SX20 with 1.02B and am anxiously following this thread. Great work everyone, I'll test any beta (alpha?) that you get compiled! Yeah, from what I've seen from the SX10 threads, I hope the Superfine option and rapid flash (4-5 pics/sec) can be enabled for the SX20 too.
gigioz79 Hi! I have too sx20 with 1.02b firmware. I'm very anxious to try any beta! Waiting for superfine and raw option... Thank you very much to everybody!
