A little question for the expert developers:
The 913 Neszt version (1.00f) don't has the problems (browsing in the Canon menus) of the 1144 f_m_b version so i think if it is possible study a 'mix' version of these two release?

I searched out a lot of missing function stubs in stubs_entry.S and stubs_entry_2.S.
I hope this was all we need to use a 1.00f like 1.02b an d 1.02d...

I am going to compile a test version tomorrow.

Thanks for the report, should be fixed now.

I don't test every possible combination of compile time options, this one only happened with exmem enabled.

Thanks for your test report.

Some Infos: In the latest version i made for the 100f (the version you tested) I used an actual CHDK-Version and the original platform files from "Neszt 913". This was just to try out if that works. 😉

The Version in the attachment "sx20-100f-0.9.9-1160-full.zip" i built with the following steps:
- First i "reformated" the platform files from 1.02b, 1.02d and also 1.00f. So it was easier for me to find out which stubs are missing.
- I found out all missing stubs for 1.00f with ARMu and changed some existing stubs. My reference was allways the 1.02b which works very stable. If i changed the original addresses found from Neszt i put in a commentary like "// old 0xff896850"
- Then i build a new version with newest CHDK 1160 and this changed platform files. In this version is exmem active with 2MB and all compile options (only without OPT_WARNINGS and OPT_EXMEM_TESTING) are included.

This changes i made "blindly". I can not test it.
So please test and try out this version and give me feedback how it works.

...If you use CHDK Shell and subversion you can also add the attached patch to compile a 100f version with other options.

I tested the new version in few minutes.
It seems to work:
Browsing in the Canon menus now OK!
I took some pictures in Auto-P-TV-AV-M mode: OK
Bracketing in M mode: OK
I Took Two Little Movie (abou 60 sec.) in M mode (video quality = 84):OK
Sometimes CHDK menu disappears during browsing as in the 913 Nesztz version but for me is not a big problem.
The next few days I hope to spend more time to test this version.
I think that jan can give further confirmation.

This version works very well for me. The only problem I could after some testing is that the camera just turns off sometimes, but I can't find any pattern. This problem existed with older CHDK builds as well.

I know only one sequence which produce this error you described: Try to shoot a picture while making a movie with the cam.

Well... i think you are going to test more... and maybe you find some more "pattern".

No, it lets us find out how much heap the Canon firmware has free (and some other possibly useful statistics)

I've also tested the release from here and it works (firmware 1.00f).

a) badpixels.bin generation works on camera, and I've created the other badpixels (standalone) file outside the camera. After setting info in the menu, it works.
b) grids work.
c) both histogram and the other that shows the overexposed areas work (I tested out of curiosity, since I do not use them anyway).
d) Fiddled around - all ok.
d) I've tested the ultra intervalometer script and made a short video here:

For me the most important feature is the bad pixels removal and it does the job.

PS: Not related to the firmware but to the Wiki pages. Some links to the show_bad.zip and show_bad_b.zip return a 404 - but if you type them directly - they work. This address for example:

If the final test results from jan, phaedra and baxev2005 are although fine i think we can mark the 1.00f as stable and reyalp (or other admin) can check in the patch.

f_m_b I tested both 1144 and 1160 versions of 1.00f and I fully agree with jan and phaedra findings. 1160 version is stable and probably ready to be put in download section. Further I noticed the following regarding canon raw file format: as previously stressed canon raw format was unreadable. I have version 10 of Firegraphic photo viewer, which could not read .crw files produced. However when I tested version 1144 I discovered that .crw files were readable and usable!!!. But after switching to newer version 1160 .crw files were again unreadable, as before. What changed between versions???? .dng files were ok on any version. Thanks for your efforts.

Nothing has changed in the CRW files. This "format" is just an exact copy of the sensor data. It never changes. Futhermore, programs that wish to support this "format" need to be updated for new camera models. This is not something that can be controlled by CHDK, it's up to the maintainers of the individual programs. See also http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Raw

Note that you can save DNG *format* with CRW *extension*. This may confuse some image processing programs, while others that understand DNG may ignore the extension and correctly load the DNG.

I would suggest that what you observed is like this.

to see my jpg/RAW/DNG pictures i use IrfanView (42😎 with CRW/CR2 Plugin for canon cameras (422).
