Sorry about this stupid question, there is something I don´t exactly understand reading these threads: Is it possible to zoom (no digital zoom, "mechanical" zoom) AND having a working autofocus while filming with this CHDK?
If yes, I will buy tomorrow a S95.

Yes you can optically zoom with this CHDK.
Type on Youtube "s95 zoom" or "s95 CHDK".

Try the version 1.00E and if doesn't work try the 1.00H.

No CHDK version for any camera will continuously autofocus in video mode. But CHDK for the S95 does allow doing a refocus in video mode by pressing a button.

- my S95 is still freezing if I press left while videorecord. anyone can confirm this or is it just me?
- my S95 still makes a quiet mechanical sound when loading CHDK via firmware, anyone else?

what I did is I just renamed the old config from beta... 5? and now that left-freezing is history. It is useless I guess but before deleting what might be handy - here is that troubblin CFG

By renaming the config file, you reset it to the defaults. You may have changed something in the menus that caused the problem. If so, changing that same menu item may make the problem come back.

It is also not uncommon for cfg files to get corrupted in early builds.

That was my reason for renaming, it wasn't just try and error 😉

thought that too, but wonder what it could have been, it's not the video settings. if it happens from time to time as reyalp implies - it's working now so no need to worry about that anymore.
so only the clicking sound on loading CHDK left, that didn't change. but i guess it won't harm the cam, so it's okay.

To refocus, just go to 'alt' mode and them video parameters. Next, choose AF key (shutter or set) and that is all.

Hello,
I did not notice that at first, but yeah, there is some click when CHDK starts (it is launched thanks to the firmware update method).
Now that I am aware of it, it makes me worry a bit.

I'm having trouble with the DNG files. I can't open them in Camera Raw 6.3 (on mac), it say it appears to be from a camera that is not supported. I though DNG files were universal? I'm using version 11 of CHDK for S95 1.00H. Anyone else have this problem?

I used CHDK in my old A710IS, and it was very useful as it helped to "remove" a hot pixel that the camera had (activating dark frame subtraction in raw menu). This dark frame feature worked even if i was saving jpegs (it is stated in CHDK documentation).
Now, with the S95, this feature isn't working (i have a hot pixel again, god...) - and i even tried turning on dark frame subtraction and hot pixel removal -> average.
I tested with the latest version 11 for 1.00e.

Well, this is just to note my experience.

1. is possible to set a value up to 16, strange because the max standard setting is 8.
2. It seams that the setting doesn't has effect, also using lower values (ie 2.06 or 2.24). I display the Real Aperture with OSD_Parameters-Miscellaneous_Value-Show_Real_Aperture Menu, and the Real displayed aperture value isn't the override value, but the standard camera value. I try in AV and in M modes. (The shutter speed override work fine).

Edit: the override value regularly appear in the screen upper left angle. (AV:2.06)

Looking at the code, the table for allowed aperture sizes is correct, but in the function gui_av_override_enum(), the override values are allowed to change over a range of 6 more than the values in the table. It is not clear to me why this "+6" is there. Maybe someone can explain where the "+6" comes from.

It is equivalent to f75 on a 35mm camera !

You may as well use a pin-hole.

Definition will be poor due to diffraction.

Gioca is saying that the menu selections go to f/16 but the hardware only goes to f/8. Looks like a bug in gui.c to me.

I try to explain better.
There are 2 issues.
1. I want to use all the aperture value available. With the CHDK is possible to set also a value of 16. Strange, due to the fact that the standard value is 1/8.

2. I set an aperture value of 2.06, I see that the value regularly appear in the screen upper left angle. (AV:2.06). But the camera follow the standard camera setting. In fact I see that the real AV value is the value of the standard setting in the camera. I see it because I display the Real Aperture with "OSD_Parameters-Miscellaneous_Value-Show_Real_Aperture" Menu, and the Real displayed aperture value isn't the override value, but the standard camera value. I try in AV and in M modes. I use v11 firmware.
