Hi,

I stumbled across chdk last week and played with high speed shutters a bit. This is what I came up with, thought I share it with y'all since I saw lighters, but no matches yet. :)

1/1500
ISO200

greetings,
skypa

Hej,
Well would have been more interesting with the full EXIFs (and patched). We don't even have the cam model.
Don't really get what role played CHDK here ?

Sorry, Exif got stripped out during cropping. Let me provide those informations manually. :)

CHDK flavour is Allbests 0.49 I think.

Well I tried ignited matches using a candle in front of my fast MD script and got some nice pics so I suppose it could've been MD. ;)  MD loses the very start of the ignition but there's still some fun left for it to pick.

The best shots I got were at about F8.0 ISO80 1/2000 s to 1/5000 s.

Really F8.0?
On A710 I used to use :D F4.5 and then higher shutter speeds, got sharper results I thought, I have to review that!

Well you may very well be correct about the sharpness... the problem was that the shortest exposures (like 20 to 100 us) didn't look as good (I bet they would be better if I the shutter would open earlier, closer to ignition) and I was already at minimum ISO so I needed to increase aperture to prevent overexposure.

Hej,
That's what I was wondering about, Grand.

This 1/1500 could come from standard EXIF section, which contains incorrect shutter speed in case of CHDK overrides.
