SD700 - IXUS800 firmware

Hello,
I have the following firmware version on my IXUS 800 IS (SD700) :
--
Canon DIGITAL IXUS 800 IS
P-ID:3119 PAL
Firmware Ver GM1.00B
Feb 6 2006 21:11:06
--
SD700 CHDK firmware is based on firmware dumped from this model:
Canon PowerShot SD700
P-ID: 3119 NT
Firmware Ver GM1.01B
Jun 20 2006 09:21:45
--
Is there a way I could update my 1.00b version to 1.01b for which exists CHDK SD700 port? Official Canon firmware update does not exist on Bebit pages. I've tried to update firmware from the dumped firmware file, but camera says "Update file error"  :(.
Eventually, I could dump my 1.00b firmware if it will make sense.
Thanks in advance!
Kodl

There is no official update, AFAIK.

I've tried to update firmware from the dumped firmware file, but camera says "Update file error"  :(.
Because it's not the update, it's just the firmware dump.

Eventually, I could dump my 1.00b firmware if it will make sense.
It will be very much appreciated.

BTW. Did you try the existing version of CHDK in your camera? Does the camera hang with it  or just reboot?

No way to convert the firmware dump to firmware update?

Yes, I tried the current CHDK sd700 v6 firmware. Camera just rebooted. No CHDK ALT options.

I will try to find, here in Czech Republic, some BPW96C compatible phototransistor and will try to dump my firmware 1.00B. Also, I will then ask my friend, owner of the IXUS 800 IS with the newer (european) 1.01B firmware, to borrow his camera to dump it too. I think, it could be useful for CHDK developers to be able to compare SD700 1.01B (NT) and IXUS800 1.01B (PAL) firmware dump.
Thank you!

Unfortunately, no.

I could be interesting. But I think they should have no differences.

I cant believe it
why not to make universal dumper?
there are still 15+ cameras without firmware dump.
Why people eager to make electronic circuits instead of making universal dumper?

PS: I'm owner of CHDK powered camera a630  so I'm somewhat lazy about doing it myself
PSS: project to make dump to SD card without any circuits
