maybe this pic can help you - definitly pin 1 + 4 !
I read somewhere that the voltage needed to detect differs between camera models, the guy made the switch in the link above (msl, also here in this forum) works with 4.5 Volts, some other switches does it with < 3 Volts...also check the polarity !

Yup, I guess it is... I checked with a volt meter now and I don't get a signal on the other hand. I'll try making a new switch.

Haven't tried SDM (yet) but Allbest #51 works just fine! (3V CR3032 button cell)

I have an A530 and would love to have a remote like this.  I haven't soldered in years and am not that keen on electronics.  Does sell these premade or can someone tell me exactly which parts were used (radio shack or something).

We also need to check 'Outline Mode' which may or may not crash your camera.

SDM 1.7:
camera focusses, flashes, and crashes. Switching to view mode doesn't do anything, and I can't even turn off the camera! :(
Only when I open the battery lid the camera turns off and I can use it again...

I'll reply on Outline Mode in the other thread :)
