Didn't the Ixuses come with no iris but just an ND filter? I don't have one, but I think I read that a couple of times in this forum...

Yes, that's true - the IXUS series has no iris, only an ND filter.
So there's only Tv bracketing in CHDK, no Av bracketing.

On my SD870 the ND filter setting in CHDK is not working yet, but the +/- bracketing is working fine anyhow.

But then of course, Gazza#9 is using Tv bracketing... I don't know why but for some reason I had it stuck in my mind that it was Av bracketing being attempted.

Okay...so...seems like we will have to wait for the Bracketing to be fixed, uh?
Please let me know in here if you have any solution to "our" problem... (maybe using some script or smth)
(I tried to bracket via Script and...again no good results; However, seems easy to me!!, I only need a script which changes EV in between shots!!! :()

Mkay, I will keep checking this thread and wait for some fix...if possible...

Ok, i'm going to update the bug report #99 that fe50 filed.  I can't quite read/understand the german forums, but I somewhat see what CHDK is doing in the SD750.

It's somehow ignoring whatever shutter speed the first shot is... instead it's starting with 1" ... from there, it does the normal +1, -1, +2, -2, ...

So, in my trials, I get:
if Tv is 2 +/-
   1/8, 4", 1/4, 15", 1/15 ...
     0   +1   -1   +2   -2

if Tv is 1/3 +/-
   1/8, 1"3, 0"8, 1"6, 0"6, 2", 0"5, 2"5, 0"4, 3"2, 0"3, 4", 1/4, 5", 1/5, 6", 1/6, 8"
   0     +1   -1   +2   -2  +3   -3   +4   -4   +5   -5  +6   -6  +7   -7  +8   -8  +9

Help says that +EV should make image brighter... but it seems reverse ...

if Tv is 1/3  -
   1/10, 1"3, 1"6, 2", 2"5, 3"2, 4"

if Tv is 1/3  +
   1/8, 0"8, 0"6, 0"5, 0"4, 0"3, 1/4, 1/5, 1/6, 1/8, 1/10, 1/13, 1/15, 1/20, 1/25, 1/30, 1/40

I think I've found a good solution for our SD750 bracketing problems...

There's a script tv_uni_e.lua in the newer builds of CHDK that allow taking multiple shots with different Tv settings.  I'm going to attempt to modify it to do some type of universal bracketing...

This should get around our problem of built-in bracketing not working.

Hi Gazza and sylikc,

I found this thread online while searching for some bracketing help. I have exactly the same problem as Gazza, ie whenever I try to use the bracketing in continuous mode, I can only get a normal picture, followed by a totally overexposed picture, followed by another overexposed picture, so there is no underexposure for me...
I have checked all the settings (ie +/- TV settings, etc), but it seems like there might be something wrong with the code...

If you guys have found any solution so far, please let me know!

I haven't had time to update the LUA script yet, though many ideas are coming together.  I'll try to have something in the next two weeks or so, time permitting.  Will post back here when I have updates.

Thanks sylikc, that would be fantastic. I am just wondering why no other people have reported the same issue... either their camera likes them better or I am one of three people that uses a SD750 with CHDK...

Can't wait!
