yes - but file is the easiest, making bootable on mac isn't (see links in previous posts)

for basic CHDK questions check Wiki FAQ and the CHDK user guide (links in my sig)

sorry this is a bit off topic. I used cardtricks to format, make bootable, and load the diskboot.bin, and started the cam in play mode. But when I press menu, there is no option to upgrade firmware. Am i missing something?

@aaaaaakash

G9 is a DryOS cam; these don't support the 'firmware upgrade' starting method.
Just write protect SD card and CHDK should run on cam startup.

(see Wiki FAQ, Q 11)

100g is working quite well guys.

The scripts work well..  Yay Time Lapse!
The long exposure works well with no glitches that I can see.

Whats flashlight do?  nothing yet I'm guessing?

Thanks to everyone envolved!

You may know already but there is a semi-official 100I firmware available that fixes a problem with hi res video manual focus:

Canon Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review

could be worth adding to the g9 chdk wiki page.

wow, i think this is the first *.fi2 file spotted in the wild! afaik now it is possible to decrypt & encrypt & write these files via CHDK, thus helping the dryos folks in a major way...

VERY interesting - maybe this gives us enough to clear up the mysteries of .fi2
so that the 'firmware upgrade' pathway can also be used on DryOS cams ?

This would unify the way CHDK starts for all supported cams, and would make it
easier to grok for newbs ...

edit @PhPh: OK, OK, you were faster (as usual)  :D

:)

uploaded the fi2 file to zshare: zSHARE - PS_G9.FI2 (as it is kind of an unofficial update...)

now the skilled devs can *MAYBE* find a way to decrypt that and subsequently find a way to encrypt the chdk files...

The ISO is still not right. Set to 400 calculates at 640....

Hi all.
I have chdk for g9-100g with working RAW!!!  :D

In attach files there is my last version for g9-100g (100f) - trunk_g9.rar ...
and also there is a test build  -  DISKBOOT.rar    for g9-100g with TimeStamp... :)
I am sorry for the developer (CHDK + with timestamp) canons5is.clan.su
for use of their code with a view of testing of working RAW on CHDK for G9...

there is example RAW with TimeStamp made with CHDK for Canon G9 -> RapidShare: Easy Filehosting
and JPEG file -> RapidShare: Easy Filehosting

below I have filled the report from jeff666 under my version for g9-100g

Tasks:
  • Get the cam started.
    • start cam under chdk-control without any extensions
    • create led-blinker-test-task

    Progress: all done
  • hijack movie-task.
    Progress: testing (some done)
  • Include multipartition/boot from SDHC support.
    Progress: all done
  • BASIC scripting.
