From drop.io dump archives (full zips),

directory structure is incorrect for g9 subs 100d, 100g and
100h (should be g9/sub/..., is g9/G9/sub)

Similarly, a590 100e and 101b paths are incorrect.

drop.io dumps:

things i noticed: missing dumps for ixus40_sd300 100j (can be found http://www.zshare.net/download/50291027617fb38c/ )
and also missing ixus80 101a (ixus82 101a), zshare link is down :(

i think in alot of the zips the case (small case, upper case mixed) of the foldernames is incorrect. other than that - good work@fE50. one thing i also noticed: in the first drop, one can only see/download all dumps when you enter the "system view".

I'll add them...

This is only relevant for case sensitive file systems, with Linux you can uses fudgey's script from here...new uploads are in correct case, maybe i'll exchange the old ones in the course of day...

Normally you can always download the whole drop, the link is on the right side...but it seems like drop.io sometimes has problems with the different view modes (you can also 'create' the zip file by your self on the 'SHARE' Tab with 'ZIP Archive', but normally i do this always when there are adds or changes...).

--> Since atm the 'page' view do not show always all items, i changed the default view to 'Media' (click 'More Others' at the bottom to scroll through the pages)...

ok, now we got all the dumps complete that belong to current trunk version #678.
i zipped a package (very tightly, 270MB zipped to 22MB) that contains ALL dumps of current chdk supported cameras, including correct paths. also included are the 5 refererence firmwares that go into tools (well, zipping was easy, so i spared you the hassle of renaming them - if you do sigstuff, you just have to move them from tools/ref_dumps to tools). (will also update first post).

i advise using this archive in the manner reyalp proposed here.

link: http://drop.io/chdk_dev_stuff

update:

i just added an archive that contains the following for EACH firmware that is supported in current trunk (as of writing this, rev 688):
names.txt - everything IDA can put a name to (+adress), here you can find for example the adresses for the temperature stuff and so on (beginners asm stuff :D)
strings.txt - all strings contained in a dump (interesting things to see there sometimes :D)
functions.txt - functions (and names, if IDA script could "decipher" them) of functions within the dump

not all dumps were dumped equal, some have more strings, some less. also, the IDA scripts seem to differ between dryos & vxworks, so the functions.txt differ.

these files can be used to a) find out what is "hidden" in these firmwares and b) for ASM beginners to try out some functions and adresses (you dont need IDA for this). these are NO disassemblies! For "real" disassembly, use IDA or the gpl tools (btw these strings and functions might help you with the GPL tools, ask Fudgey :D)

beware, this 6 MB archive unpacks to 260 MB!

I've updated the drop.io - chdkdumps backup archive with the two corrected G9 dumps.
The original G9 100g dump had some leading FF bytes, that's why CardTricks cleaned only the trailling zeros...
Thx for your work !

Added also the ixus750_sd550_100h dump from Brianwillis to the drop.io - chdkdumps backup archive:
