I used on my home computer a universal card reader - "6 in 1 ". There was no good. Uploaded in laptop with one slot for SD and all earned!

The ps.fi2 file is not available in the BETA, and this gives me a serious head-ache. I'am stucked, and probably one of the gods can help me.

1. Months before, when i was on dumping the firmware, i compiled the blinker, and with that, i could produce working ps.fi2 file. (pack.bat output from unencoded DISKBOOT.BIN)

2. In CHDK, i also can produce ps.fi2 file by compiling DISKBOOT.BIN without encoding and using the pack.bat the same way. This ps.fi2 file gives me E31 error on the camera's LCD screen while trying to boot.

3. I have problems using the CHDK "built in" ps.fi2 compile method, because i am unable to find out the required keys.

Note, that the ps.fi2 files, generated by pack.bat is definitely good in some way, because

a.) i was able to dump the firmware with that

b.) E31 error means the camera accepts the ps.fi2 file and started to boot, and begun to execute the part of the firmware.

Hi there

I'm an SX20 user with the 1.02 firmware and have been following this forum with interest.

I came across this website that describes the firmware updating for the SX1.

According to this website, it seems that the SX20 might qualify as a firmware-upgradeable camera.

If so, would it then be possible for users like us to "downgrade" to the v1.00f firmware (since we have the full firmware) to use CHDK?

No.
A new camera firmware can only be applied with an original Canon firmware update - Canon didn't release a fw update for the SX20 yet...

As a first step the porting of the SX20 need to be completed; then the port could be adapted to other fw versions...
