SD950 - previously unknown firmware!!

I've bought a refurbished SD950 (actually an Ixus 960) from Canon. I chose that model because apparently all known firmware versions were CHDK capable. Of course, I get one with firmware that no-one has seen before (1.00E.) Has anyone got any suggestions as to what I might do? I've tried 1.00d - the camera hangs and I have to remove and replace the battery before it will switch on again. Many thanks.

This means a new port will be required for this camera. If you are developer, this it is fairly straightforward to add support for a new firmware version of an existing port.

You can try to get a firmware dump. This camera is old enough that the "dryos" version of udumper should work. You can set this up using cardtricks.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

Thanks for your quick response!

I've managed to get a firmware dump - it starts with gaonisoyP, so it looks OK... what should I do next?

Upload the dump somewhere, e.g. on a free hoster like Megaupload or zShare , then post the link here...

Thanks to you too, FE50! OK, here it is...

SD950 1.00E firmware dump

Of course, I would be very happy to act as beta tester.

If I ought to post this link elsewhere please tell me. I've been a member of the forum for 18 hours and I'm already amazed by the help I've received.
