A640 hacked need to restore original firmware

I've hacked my a640 but need to restore is this possible, currently I can only use hacked sd cards and any other cards come up as locked?

did you just nstall CHDK on the card?
If so, just insert the card in your card reader and delete all files !

sorry meant I used allbest now even if I format the card or use a brand new card the camera see's the card as locked.

Then unlock the card.

Either you forgot to do that, or you broke your card. The 'lock' switch is just a piece of plastic without a connection to the SD cards electronic, and with CHDK alone you _cant_ alter your cameras firmware.

Have a close look at your card, maybe you'll see for yourself.

No the lock's on 3 cards are all fine I also tried an mmc which doesnt have a lock on it, any card without the albest files comes up as locked, I can only use the camera with a card with allbest.

It seems that card connector damaged in your camera (card lock sensor, sometimes it happens). So, you can always use CHDK or repair camera (connector). No firmware actions is necessary.
