Title: sx200 IS usb connection
Post by: handyandy55 on 26 / September / 2009, 19:40:42
Its great to see that the sx200is is progressing well.  I wish i had the skill to help.

I assume that we will be able to connect two of the sx200is together via a usb lead with remote trigger, as the examples found on this site using a small battery to sync the cameras.

Will the pin outs be the same using pin 1 & 4 if if remember corretly for the other article.

Any advise would be welcome.

I have tried using a 20D and 30D with some far results, but they are heavy to use when trying the shoot model helicopters fyling through the air.  I hope the sx200is will enable me to create a light weight rig but still being able to use its long lens.  I know that the shhot per second will be much less, unless CHDK improves this as well.

Thanks

@handyandy55,
the pinout will be same as all usb sockets, plugs and cables use a standard pinout.
Pins 1 and 4 are the power pins, MAKE SURE you get them the right way round.

As regards the shots / sec, CHDK does not alter that, you are stuck with the speed the camera and card are capably of.
