Screen shutdown during script running

When running scripts, I have come across an annoying little "feature".  If there is no response for the period of time set in the menu, the display shuts down.  For some reason, this also occurs when only using key functions to which the camera doesn't have to respond (i.e. arrow keys, set, etc.  not "shoot" etc.), the camera interprets this as no response and shuts down the screen.  Once it is shut down, you have to basically exit the function mode (and shutting down the script) to get the display back.  Has anyone found a way to bypass this, or would it be possible to add this as a feature to keep the camera awake during scripts?  Currently, my only option is to set my display shutdown to the max, or am I missing something?
