As I have hacked apart many of the Canon P&S's now... it seems that the miniature Philips screwdrivers aren't really the correct drivers for the little screws that they are held together with. I typically use a PH000 screwdriver, but it is very easy to strip them out with this driver. The screws are very shallow and the standard philips really doesn't cut it.

Anyone know a better solution? Is it JIS? Something more exotic?

I know the topic's old, but...
I've cannibalised several bust cameras for screws, the crossheads all seem to be JIS.
Buy a set of 00,0,1 and 2 and you won't regret it.
