Also tested w/ my IXUS40.
No matter if you record RAW or JPG, at the end of the writing screen flashes and power off.
Sometimes you get corrupt data on the SD from the writing. Looks like buffers were not flushed yet.
As the other user reported when he writes both raw+jpg the first is written successfully, I guess it has nothing to do with raw writing. Something on the way back from writing to normal shooting operation crashes the IXUS40.
Like PhyrePhoX wrote the image of reply #60 works fine.  :o
If anybody has an idea and would like me to try a test build let me know.

Hi CapFuture, I have the same problem as you. DNG4PS-2 doesnt show anything in the file list. I've tried on 2 computers with various files.

I've mailed Denis who wrote DNG4PS-2 who kindly replied swiftly, but to say he doesnt have time to maintain it any longer. which is a shame given how many people like CHDK.

But obviously others have got it working with the Ixus 40, so maybe some kind soul will respond to confirm they can convert CRWs with it from the Ixus 40, and if so maybe share their configuration.

I'm wondering if its an antivirus setting etc?

Because DNG4PS2 (and CHDK) setting  for IXUS40 has some errors:

RAW file length:
CHDK RAW size = 0x50D750 = 5298000 (it seems correct)
DNG4PS2 expected RAW size = 5160000 (incorrect, therefore DNG4PS2 cannot open this RAW)

Matrix size:
CHDK (camera.h): 2376x1728.  But this is incorrect, because 2376*1728*10/8=5132160 - is not equal to CHDK RAW size (529800).

So, pixel count must be 5298000*8/10=4238400=883 * 3 * 2^6 * 5^2 = (883*2) * (3* 2^5 * 5^2)=2400*1766
(we trying to obtain x/y ~ 4/3).
DNG4PS2 expects 2400x1720.

We can also find this values in code (for 1.00K):

Other values similar to matrix active area.

Can I edit a config file somewhere in dng4ps so it can read files with this aspect ratio, or are you telling me there is no solution ;)

Ok Guys, here's What happened to me.

I downloaded the latest build for my sd300 that is in the "download" section of the "official SDK autobuild", thinking that the latest buil above in this thread was for the "SDM-CHDK" therefore it was more stable, since this one says it is beta.

My camera couldn't even take a picture, as soon as you took it, it was white screening and then turning off without closing the lens. While I was testing this build, they release an even newer one, so i tested it too, and same thing.

So I decided to take my chances with the beta and be give my feedback in this thread and guess what? It is working with this beta.

My question... Is this a derivate of the stable? this should be less stable? I guess that my real question is... What is the difference between this build right here, and the Official CHDK Autobuild listed in here?

Just clear things up, the autobuilds aren't betas for SDM. They are just snapshot builds of the main CHDK project. There are not currently any official releases, only the autobuilds.

SDM is an independent project developed by microfunguy. There are threads for his releases in Microfunguy's Builds

Thanks for your answer... So this beta version is a SDM from Microfunguy. while the other one, not that is official but is a snapshot???

Ok, Question here...

Is the SD300 capable of the USB remote trigger? I made one, but it doesn't seem to work.

yeah, there are reports of the ixus40 crashing in the german forum as well.  i think there is no ticket in the bugtracker created yet...

Hello,

Am I the only one here who is unable to take shots with CHDK 0.8.10-651 (same problem with 0.8.10-640)?
Everything seems to work (including video recording) except that when I take a photo, I get a blink with blue LED,  the screen goes white for ~ 0.1 seconds and the camera powers off with lenses out and the photo is not saved on the memory card :(

The problems happens with CHDK full version with default settings (just installed on the card).

Is there any way to debug the issue?
