ok seems to work now - I am getting a 32 MB lage bin file - is that the correct size for the dump?

super new to all this so could i please get a link to a page explaining it in a bit more straight forward. i am currently trying to put all the fils in a folder named system volume information i presume thats the partition i need i also saved a notepad file into that named extend.m and then i placed all the files i downloaded there. started the camera and got nothing. a little direction would be brilliant, thankyou in advance

Menu flickering is unfortunately normal.  How bad it flickers varies between camera models with recent ones now being worse.  Try accessing the CHDK menu in Playback mode rather than Shooting mode- sometimes that helps.

If the menu item selection is changing by itself that's likely a bug in the port.

Please continue posting in the porting thread. This thread here was supposed to be dedicated for firmware dumps.

If the menu item selection is changing by itself that's likely a bug in the port.
Hard to spot a bug if it's hardware dependent (which is what I'm suspecting) and does not occur on my 'copy'.

Thank you for the dump and the feedback!


Some notes. The main part of firmware is unchanged (except for build date and revision). The bootloader, however, has changed again (there are now 3 known variants of it).
