I have a Canon PowerShot A2000 IS camera with firmware 1.00A on it, and I want to try chdk. Is there anyway I can update the cameras internal firmware to at least 1.00B or 1.00C so it will be usable with chdk?

No, not unless Canon has published an update. They probably haven't and probably won't. It's even possible that they can't (fw versions could be due to hardware changes, instead of just being bug fixes).
