Hej,
I use threshold 20 or 30 usually and no masking, default cells as well. Didn't have much problems with the trees, I guess they are blurry enough if the center points on the branch. Can't do anything about branches up the bird which changes the shade on the spot, depending where the sun is, or just the wind.

Hej,
So you know, I have edited the first post with most of the bird pictures that used to be on this thread.
First they were on a friend's personal site, which is no longer online, and then on imageshack which is dead too, reuloaded them on imgur, even made a public post there but it didn't get much love, but well, at least I can show them here.
There are few non-CHDK pictures.
