Can't find A2100 versions

Hi

According to the FAQ the PowerShot A2100 is supported but when I access the download section for stable release there doesn't seem to be any A2100 package on the Autobuild server.

Any suggestions ?

It's available from the CHDK-DE (German) website. Acid will find and download it for you. See http://www.zenoshrdlu.com/acid/acid.html or http://forum.chdk-treff.de/download.php

You also can try a test version from the porting thread. Your camera must have the firmware version 1.00a.

Thanks, I managed to download a version, a2100-100a-1.1.0-full_ALPHA_rev_1010.zip.

My problem now is that I can't get the camera to boot the DISKBOOT.BIN file. I had a 8MB SD card with one FAT32 partition. After reading "Prepare your SD card" info I shrinked the FAT32 partition and created a 1 MB FAT16 partition, in short I followed the instructions described in Bootable SD Card section for cameras before 2011 in order to use the "SD Card Lock" method. No boot, just a "No Image" screen and "Card Locked" warning when turning on using Play button even though there are images on the FAT32 partition.

(Card was modified using gparted and following Linux 'Method #'2 )

Any suggestions ?

Regards,

Per W.

According to http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/P-ID_%28Table%29 a2200 was released in 2011, and therefore can boot from FAT32 and does not support cards with multiple partitions.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

The code to support partitioned cards and partition switching is disabled in the A2100 port.
The comments indicate it caused the camera to crash.

It looks like this is an incomplete port - the movie override task also does not appear to be implemented.

Hi

I switched to a 1GB FAT16 card and retried the "SD Card Lock" method and it worked !!
CHDK-DE 1.1.0-1010 is now running ok. As this is the German version I do have some challenges but I'll do my best.

Will try several partition layouts using my 8GB card and see if that will help.

If you delete the german.lng file from your SD card,  CHDK-DE will display most things in English. After a big recent effort,  most of the rest of it should operate the same way.

If you delete the german.lng file from your SD card,  CHDK-DE will display most things in English.

This method does not work anymore, because the German language  is inbuilt.

Start the default script to change the language. You need the file english.lng in CHDK/LANG. Default camera language must be English.
