Ah, thanks. I overlooked the top of this long thread)
Would it help if I buy one now anyway to help test?

The cause of those "limitations" is mostly missing or poorly performing DIGIC 6 specific CHDK code. So, I'm afraid there's nothing currently that could be improved by testing.

For 102c firmware I see there is a file 'Strings.txt' but no 'funcs_by_address.csv' or 'funcs_by_name.csv'.
For 102b there are also no such files.

Is the address of  PTM_SetCurrentItem (or PTM_SetCurrentItem_FW) known for those firmware versions ?

Thanks.

It sounds like you are looking a firmware dump rather than the source. The funcs_* files are generated by finsig_thumb2, when you build with stubs enabled.

You can also find them in svn:
https://app.assembla.com/spaces/chdk/subversion/source/HEAD/trunk/platform/sx280hs/sub/102c/funcs_by_address.csv
Don't forget what the H stands for.

Hi

I've recently upgraded to Windows 10 and can't upload CHDK to my SX280. I've tried using the STICK method but it shows the wrong operating system (Windows NT (unknown) 6.2) and I can't change it to windows 10. I've tried Stick jar and Stickx. Any suggestions what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks

When posting requests for help, you will usually get a better response if you describe in detail what you did and what happened.  When using STICK,  attaching the log file it creates (sticklog.txt) is particularly helpful.

Running STICK on my Windows 10 system shows the OS as Windows 8.1 6.3 . That's normal. I'm not sure why yours says 6.2 but it may not matter.

The stickx.cmd file is the one you want to run.

Please post a more detailed description about what you did and saw,  and please attach (do not cut & pasted it into the response) the resulting sticklog.txt file.

Dear waterwingz

Thank you for your response. I clicked the stickx.cmd file and dropped the photo and got the screen grab which I attach together with the the log file.

Kind regards

Arte

According to the log, you missed one step (as this camera does not yet have an official CHDK release).

The instructions for installing an unofficial build can be found here: http://www.zenoshrdlu.com/stick/stickx.html
You may also want to review your older posts in this thread (you had problems with a specific card).

I am a newbie to Canon CHDK... and find it both applaudable, and annoying that such simple functionality as an interval timer has to be introduced to a company's products in this way...   my $80 Git1 cam has this feature and many more... but 'Canon' has to bury it??

Anyway, after literally days of poring over this stuff and searching for any support for the SX280HS I have, I finally found YOUR porting and build and slowly constructed a recipe to get it all loaded... and its up and functional.

THANK YOU!!!!! to the people who took the time to add these now expectable features... your effort is appreciated.

Dr. Michael Vogt
