That's probably .NET 4.5.2 that you neglected to install, which is only a couple of clicks from "just works"...
Well, I have mono installed - which is pretty much all you get with a standard wine install.

Here's what I see when I run the CHIMP.exe using wine :

I see. You have two FAT32 partitions with CHDK installed on both. That should be supported with more recent versions via the Switch partitions action (which currently requires CHIMP to be re-run).

On a second thought, that wouldn't work. CHIMP would interpret the card as a dual-partition install and overwrite files in the root directory of the other partition. So don't try that!

That's probably not what would have happened, but CHIMP was definitely misbehaving.

I just released CHIMP 0.9.2, which should solve this (and a few more multi-partition-related bugs).

P.S. Would anyone over at CHDK-DE be willing to translate CHIMP?
Yes of course. I can make a translation.

Thank you! I'll clean up the resx file and post it here.

I'm attaching the localization files:
  • Resources.resx - primary localization source. The format is XML (kind of human-readable), but using Visual Studio (or its likes like Xamarin Studio) is highly recommended.
  • intro_tips.txt - well, intro tips. The format is JSON, so it's human-readable.
Notes:
  • Strings starting with _, product names etc. shouldn't be translated. I did my best commenting on each.
  • Special attention should be paid to the length of the step names. Since German words tend to be longer than English ones, some abbr. might be required (Russian example).
  • CHIMP is work in progress. As new features are added, additional strings will most likely require translations.
Thanks again!

That's already happening! I just added 4 more strings to the resx:

Code: [Select]
Software_Status_prealpha
Software_Status_alpha
Software_Status_beta
Software_Status_final

Please use the updated version.

Doesn't look like mono will support WPF anytime soon.

Thank you, Phil.

Did you get a chance to look at my modular localization proposal? I'd really appreciate your feedback on that.

Since there have been more changes in Resources.resx, I removed the attachment for the time being.

I'll post updated files along with the next version of CHIMP.
