Right you are, just like the 3300 no diaphragm, no adjustable aperture, it only changes as you zoom and the nd filter auto engages depending on the levels that are metered.

If the last post for the 100D works but still has issues with focusing, then try this build.

Finally got around to testing the subject distance override (in program mode). Unfortunately, the camera crashes when I turn the feature on in <alt> mode, switch to normal mode and half-press. Everything is fine if I turn it off.

Btw, the menu has different colours in playback and shooting modes. Is this normal?
try to lock auto focus, on b firmware(one in first post) camera also crashes if you don't lock auto focus

hi
In my 1.00D,  the last  version work fine than previous version.
But in manual focus work fine (via override), really change the focus in the screen, untill press half shoot ( then crash) or until run any script
lua or basic, crash too.
thank you for the effort.

Hello & welcome !

I cant find PS.fir file in the zip i downloaded from porting thread page 15.
also not able to find update firmware option in menu after starting in playback mode
The beta CHDK version can only be started with a bootable SD card, starting with the "Firm update" menu item is not supported.

-> Make your card CHDK-bootable (e.g. with CardTricks or EOSCard), expand all files from the zip package & lock the card.

Hello
I succeeded in making my card bootable.
It also shows me CHDK version when I start the Camera.
But how to go to CHDK menu ?
I am pressing faces button then menu button and still getting normal camera options. :(
In which mode should i keep my camera before i start it ?(Like P, Live, SCN, Auto...?)

@ndongaonkar:

Try holding DISP & then pressing FUNC/SET for <Alt> mode, then MENU to enter the CHDK main menu

Sorry to hear the subject distance dont work still, thats works fine on the 3300, I dont see much differ in the 2 cams, strange it dont work.

But the focus doesnt crash during LUA now though right?

Like dejco said, if autofocus lock is off, setting subject distance will crash the camera, no matter whether running a script or shooting normally.

Also, the colors are differ in play and rec mode, that is correct, no way 2 make them differ as of now the way chdk is set up. I made them correct for shoot mode since that is more used then playmode.

Ah, that explains it. The menus look excellent in shoot mode.

Btw, is there some way to use the rather frivolous <smile> button to switch to <alt> mode rather than <disp>+<funcset>? Now it messes up the <disp> setting every time I need to switch.
