A470 Intervalometer Script won't work at all at all

Any help much appreciated.  I've successfully loaded CHDK onto my SD card, it's 1.02C from http://mighty-hoernsche.de/.    I turn on the camera, update the firmware version, press ALT and get into the CHKD.  From there I go to the CHKD main menu, select Scripting parameters, and load the ult_intrvl.bas script for intervalometer shown at http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/UBASIC/Scripts:_Ultra_Intervalometer.  Switch to manual mode, all set... press the button on the camera, and nothing happens.

Well, there's no sound of shutters or anything.  The display reassuringling displays "STARTED" on pressing, but after a degree of frustration I start repeatedly pressing the top button and notice it's displaying both "STARTED" and "FINISHED" simultaneously.  No pictures taken.  Is there a problem with the intervalometer script, I ask myself?  Let's write a test script before I start digging through lines of UBasic.  Here is my test script.  Apologies if it is a little hard to follow, I am new to this:

shoot
end

(Saved as shoot.bas)

My reasoning being that if I can't get a script this simple working then there's something going on outside the script that's the problem.

Proud of this creative extravaganza, I load my new test script, shoot.bas and get started.  The display reassuringling displays "STARTED" on pressing, but after a degree of frustration I start repeatedly pressing the top button and notice it's displaying both "STARTED" and "FINISHED" simultaneously each time I press.  No pictures taken.  Is there a problem with the shoot script, I ask myself?

I like to relax myself with searching "A470" on YouTube, watching timelapse photography of water evaporating on tarmac, thinking, if only I could use CHDK, I too could display such creative genius to the world.  But I've got to get CHDK working, I really do not want to have to ride the weather balloon myself just to take my photos of the curvature of the earth manually.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Hello & welcome, Mike9rz !

Try one of the following intervalometer scripts... for timelapse creation you can use VirtualDub...

* http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/LUA#Minimalistic_Intervalometer (minimalistic)
* http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/LUA#yet_another_accurate_intervalometer (yet another accurate intervalometer)
* http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/User:Fe50#double_intervalometer (double intervalometer)
