Excellent work. I often take exposures longer than 1 second (with DNG), so this release adds a lot of functionality for me.  What else can I say... I'm grateful to those who have invested their time and effort into making CHDK work on the SX130IS...  good job and keep up the good work  :)

Hi,
I am trying the last version of CHDK from quid and it works quite fine for me but I have few problems.

1.) In manual mode I cannot set shutter speed <1/1600 if I use aperture f3,4.

2.) If there are more pictures in the memory card, I cannot run CHDK. It crashes after load firm in playback mode.

3.) If I use an bracketing mode, I cannot see the proper values in EXIF (maybe it's a feature of original CHDK).

1 -  This is normal behavior of shutter mechanics. Shutter is slower when fully opened (low values of aperture), and faster when it is closed (high values of aperture). If you need faster shutter than Canon provides, you can try to use CHDK's shutter override, but you need to test if there is any real change in taken picture.

2 - How many pictures did you have on card when crash occured?

3 - EXIF is not reliable when you use overrides in CHDK, but there should be correct info MakerNotes. I'll try to check why it's missing on our camera (DNG files have correct information).

quid:
thank you for your answer. Unfortunately, the amount of images which do crash is fully random. Even one image can do the crash. Let me know if you need more information about configuration of chdk in my camera or how to test the problem efficiently.

OK, then few more questions:
1. Did you make sure that you have firmware 1.01c and you are using latest CHDK version, compiled Jan 28, 17:53?
2. Which method of starting CHDK do you use (manual through Firm Update or automatic through DISKBOOT.BIN)? If manual, then try automatic.
3. Do you have single or dual partition setup?
4. How much memory do you have when you start in playback mode and when you start in shooting mode?
5. Do you have enabled other features, like Edge Overlay or Zebra? If yes, then try without them.

Hi, after many troubles with 8GB card with dual partition,
I have used 4GB card, single partition today and until now all is fine.
Camera starts much faster and no crashes at all.
I am very happy at the moment.

Hi! I had once the same problem - can't load CHDK when had some photo on SD. But it's not really random - I saw, that this happened with one image as the last, but after shot another one, the problem gone. Unfortunetly I didn't keep this image. Another time I'll keep the photo cousing the problem.

In addition: I've got 1.01c firm and CHDK from #136. SD: 8GB, 1 partition, CHDK run through Firm Update. Zebra disabled, not remember about Edge, possibly the bracketing was enabled, but it has been enabled before. Rather no other overrides.

Some information.

CHDK splash screen appears until 4 - 5 secs after power on. A cause is spytask_can_start flag isn't set in core_spytask_can_start():

while((i++<400) && !spytask_can_start) msleep(10);

The function core_spytask_can_start() isn't called. For fix this I just added *(int*)0x193C = (int)taskCreateHook; to  loc_FF810354_my().

Ops, sorry, I'm using patch-rev1042-20110115.zip.

How do you think why just *(int*)0x1938 = (int)taskCreateHook doesn't work?
