Me too 8) I have a G7X too, and its a great little camera. Getting rawopint up and running on that, would be just... :xmas
Hope it doesnt have any weird quirks, like the G1 X which certainly does. Rawopint did solve the powersaving issue of the G1x though.
The LCD can be turned off, without having the G1x switch to autofocus. Nice! It can actually shoot approx 3 hours (in cold conditions) on one full charge now, so thats cool.....
BTW. let me know if there is anything I can do to help porting the G7X. I'm not a coder or anything, but I do have the camera.....

Yes unfortunately :( and you did already a lot of work on this…

But I still don’t understand, what lapser is doing, when he runs with his G1x from sunset to great Milky Ways.

ND and aperture would be a great improvement, because I never run timelapse against the sun without ND filter.  At least the 3 steps from the ND will really helpful when you go from sunset to night.

Here is a first, rather boring run on the g7x


From the log it looks like there might be some problem with ISO control, but it basically works.

Slightly more dynamic run, still doesn't exercise exposure control much

I posted some sky timelapses in the examples rawopint thread.
If you see any issues I may be able to post the csv's.
The camera went to ISO400 and 20 seconds of exposure.

In one of the timelapses the moon is visible but this objects gets a non-round shape at night in the exposures it made.
Only during the day the round shape is restored. (over exposure effects?)

This is probably due to the moon moving during a long exposure.

It gets more or a star-shaped form with rays extending from the points of the star.

Have you seen the settings for the moon above in this thread?
The moon is definitely overexposed with 20s…
For the moon I got typically IS0100 and 1/50s.
You can’t have a neutral exposed moon and stars together….

Where is the problem to attach csv log files?

Which aperture do you use?
When you close the aperture you have this effect with the sun and moon when it’s overexposed. Also seen on my videos with the sun.

Which aperture do you use?
This very timelapse appears to have been done with av=4.
Others with av=2.
I did not set aperture, so probably I should set it to the lowest value for sky timelapse?
