I'm waiting to buy a IXUS115HS, but there's no stable release of CHDK, the main reason why im a Canon fan is because it supports RAW via CHDK,  but in these alpha releases of CHDK , there are many bugs with RAW. :( Should i go for the camera or not?. someone post some nice images of this camera, especially in low light :) and some raw images. :) i would like to see the results of this camera :) should i buy this ?. or save for the HS220?. On a tight budget, or should i go for the A945 Instead?. which is supported by CHDK.

Developers there are many waiting for a stable release of CHDK for 115HS ! :) ..

I have gone through that site. The only thing i like better about the HS310 is the wide angle lens. :) Anyway.. so should i save up for the HS115 and take a chance to wait for the release of CHDK, or go for a  A495 and load it with CHDK :)?. 

If i do purchase a HS115, what version numbr should i buy?

2ryandigweed, I know nothing about a495, but hs115 is very good camera. I like it even without normal chdk. I'm sure, that it's better than a495. if I were you, i would save money for hs115.

there are some bugs in high speed video: optical zoom doesn't work and after pressing autofocus button, this high speed mode becomes regular speed mode.

you are welcome)) I read in the internet about that a495. it sucks, I'm telling you! 115 or 220 is the best choice))

Great advice, i heard it's a good camera. But im going to take ur word for it, as it's quite an old model, and i mainly like the new 115, because of the HS, i like shooting without flash in low light without getting high noise, and blur.. Hopefully it should do that, and not mess up my photos ! :)

I agree that the HS115 is good for low light. But try not to avoid flash altogether.
The camera has a flash mode called "Slow Synchro" where it uses the flash, but leaves the shutter in for a while.

This results in the person being lit nicely, and the lights in the background either make amazing patterns across the image, or become brighter.

Hi Devs,

Its great to see chdk bring ported to ixus115. My camera has a firmware version 1.00c, and I have successfully loaded alpha5.

I am fairly new to this stuff and have not yet explored all the great features of chdk. For the time being, I am interested in enabling manual focus (similar to touch-focus in smartphone cameras where u can focus on any part of image). Can this feature be enabled by chdk? and is that working for this camera?
