Long timelaps - need more space

I'm going to do a very long time lapse video. I will try to shooting for 3 months on my IXUS 800 (unless it breaks halfway). However, currently I only have a 2GB SD cards and clearly need more space. I will connect my camera to a permanent power supply and to a computer, and I would like to know if there is any way to make either my camera push it's images to the computer or go into "play mode" (or whatever it's called) so I can pull the images with the computer.

And if not - is it possible (with CHDK) to put a high capacity SD card so I can run for a few days without switching cards

According to http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/digital_cameras/powershot_sd_series/powershot_sd700_is#Specifications ixus 800 (SD700) only supports SD, not SDHC. So 4gb is the largest card you can possibly use. 4 GB SD cards do exist, but most 4 GB cards are SDHC, so you will need to be careful if you try to buy one.

You can't directly "push" images from the camera. You can use the CHDK PTP extension to http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/PTP_Extension to download and delete files. Automating this for your project will require some scripting.

You might also look into using eyefi http://www.eye.fi although I'm not sure if they ever made an SD (rather than SDHC) based card. The current generation appear to be SDHC.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

Thank you very much!

I will try to find a 4GB non SDHC card for my camera in order to have a larger buffer. But PTP was just what I was looking for
