Title: Fujifilm FinePix S1600
Post by: FJHDK on 12 / June / 2010, 22:34:42
Hello guisse,

Im starting here the Dev. of a Fujifilm Hack Development Kit.

I just got my SuperZoom Cam, Fujifilm FinePix S1600 this morning, cost me about 140bucks.

Specs: 8sec-1/2000 s, Iso 64 to 6400 and F3.1 to 6.5.

There is no reason for this cam, to be restricted to 8sec shutter. I want atleast 20secs. I dont think this should be any problem. ISO 64 is fine, but i would like to have 50.  And i want a F8

Now lets start by modifing the Firmware, load it up and try if it works.  The firmware (several files) is packed in a .DAT file. I checked it in Word, and found some relation to a  .pdb filesystem idk if thats the case tho.

1. Does any one know, how to open those .DAT files? im willing to test it on my brand new cam. The Editing cant be that hard.

So fhirst task: We need to Open the firmware file .DAT

Can anyone help?

The aperture is another problem, because there is just the max and min values in the s1600, i hope that patch provide mean values
