hi

put the fresh chdk on my cam and all seem to work so far.
but have a the problem that after using chdk "alt" state going back into the normal cannon mode
by the blue printer button (alt) releases a shutter operation
wich NOT makes a picture but after that the whitebalance is reset to custom
everytime u go back from alternate (alt) to normal .
what happened to the video quality thing is it not implemented in the allbest chdk ?

my 2 cents

 ??? Are you sure your referring to the A650IS ? I didn't think a build was currently available for the A650IS (at the time of writing that is)

In Canon's menu assign "print/share" button to "none".

This feature implemented only for VxWorks cameras.

P.S. Download link for A650 1.00D - http://malbe.nm.ru/chdk/allbest-a650-100d-16.zip

 ::) well hehe ... next time ... RTFM  ;) ...
thanx ALOT for the build waited for it like a kid for :xmas .
one thing that is interesting that even the DCIM inner folder says 720is for the photos ... seems to be exactly the same firm as also with the led adresses . so only a different ccd and lens .

@Trackieman

if u really want to be up to date u have to order an reuters rss feed where they give the latest infos  :P ..

honestly i just looked in the SVN and saw that ewarv put a650 support into the build ... so i was already downloading the environment for compiling but thought that it might take ages for me to go through the steps and that probably one of the big guys already uploads the final version .

testing now ... i LOVE the overrides !

Hi, I'm new on this forum and using CHDK!
I own an A650IS, and I'm tryng to put CHDK on it.
Is there a place where I can find a howto on how to do this?

What I had made until now:
 - download file: allbest-a650-100d-16.zip
 - extract files to root dir on SD card
 - put the card onto the cam... didn't find "Firm update" menu item...
 - create a file named "PS.FI2" on root of SD card
 - the "Firm update" menu item appears, but give me an error...

 What can I do to load CHDK?

What can I do to load CHDK?

* Make card bootable. Card must be FAT16 formatted.
* Copy diskboot.bin to card (ps.fir can be moved to trashcan  :))
* Lock card by switch on it
* Insert card into camera and switch camera on.
* Enjoy!

Thanks for the developers of chdk, I shot few raw pictures using "allbest-16 build" on my A650 and follow the raw processing from:
http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ#Q._I.27ve_shot_some_RAW_pictures._How_do_I_process_them.3F

But none of converters work on A650 raw files, is there any raw converter I can use?

Pretty much all the independent RAW converters use Dave Coffin's dcraw underneath the GUIs to do the heavy lifting. There is no way for him to update it until RAW files for any given camera are actually available, which has been just a couple of days for the A650.

So the first solution will be dcraw, then the others as they incorporate the changes.

I sent him a sample today and he sent me a patch for the C code and prelim color settings. Not final, but should allow conversion. Except, I'm not that kind of programmer. So if you or anyone would like the patch, I can send it on. And maybe you could send me the Windoze executable.

I found A710 RAW files to be a big improvement on the JPEGs:
http://zone-10.com/cmsm/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=149&Itemid=1&limit=1&limitstart=3

So I'm eager to see how the A650 fares.

Wow...   :o Thanks it work like a charm... Now I only need to learn how to use it, and how to take pictures :D
I'll edit the A650IS page on the wiki and put your instructions on it :)

Thanks for the information but I'm not a programmer too, so its better to wait for a new version of dcraw to support A650 raw files.
