I was looking for additional micro adjustment function on my 40D and here in Italy some guy semes to have on their 40D a service Firmaware unremoved from their body after service reparation that probably helps ( only with Canon Lens).

Here: E' possibile "dumpare" il firmware della 40D? - Forum Canon Club Italia

Do you know anythingh about?

Thanks and have a good day

Interesting. I see all those strings in my 40D firmware as well, including "Firmware-Vers. *" and "3.9.0 67(3c)". After reading that topic, all I can say is that it's probably the camera's "factory mode", which can be enabled and disabled. Probably the guys at the service center forgot to disable it and that's probably also why a firmware update won't fix it, it's stored just outside the firmware.

it's not a private hobby anymore - you just replied to it (with zero information value as well, albeit the unnessary burn). seriously though, i was intrigued with the factory menu bar that enables you to access the menus sw test, ck display, ck dial, af ck, dust and data ck; specifically the af ck as some code from a dump of that might prove helpful to microadjustment - but i really don't know anything about this so burn away.

It came to my attetion that you brought up threads which were dead up to more than half a year. That generally is not too well liked in internet boards, but apparently you are not aware of that. When you are happy over a old find, thats fine. Be happy about it, but keep a "wow, interesting" to yourself, unless its topic relevant.. But you are probably right. Just ignoring it and letting the thread sink again to the bottom of the board is maybe better than starting a futile argument..
