Title: Depth of Field Scale for M cameras
Post by: pigeonhill on 31 / July / 2022, 13:08:42

I thought some may be interested my latest  Lua script that I’ve directed at the Canon M3, focus by wire lenses.
The objective being to provide the photographer with a depth of field UI to support manual focus bracketing.

I thought some may be interested in my latest blog post on QDFS, which has three videos showing the script in action:

I appreciate that my posting here on the Canon M3 Depth of Field Scale, using CHDK, will be of limited value to most/all readers.

However, for the record, I thought it worth flagging up the power that all camera manufacturers refuse to give us. Namely, in-camera scripting technology.

The latest short post on my developments can be found here: https://photography.grayheron.net/2022/08/qdfs-further-refinement.html

This latest tweak means that the focus reporting, like a broken clock, is right in two locations, eg minimum focus and, say, the hyperfocal or another reference distance of interest.

The M3 Depth of Field script now works with all EF-M lenses and you don't need to register any of them ;-)
