I wonder if it's possible to stream live, uncompressed HD video from the new mini HDMI ports - that seem to be a standard feature in most of the new Powershot's these days. e.g. The SX200IS, SX1, SX20 etc

Raw 1280x720 video would look awesome without all of the mpeg4 artifacts!

Not with CHDK.

I was wondering the same with my new Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 attached to a macro rig.
Unfortunately, you can only playback images.

With one model of Lumix there is an undocumented feature ... in record mode if you press the Delete button for about five seconds it will stream live HDMI !

I know the 5dmkII has been hacked to enable this feature, (with Hudson's Magic Lantern FW). I was hoping one of the CHDK devs might have come across some HDMI code while dumping FW for one of the new DryOS based camera's...?

You have to wonder if some of these restrictions are purely software based?

Nice cam the Panasonic G1! Would be great to see a PHDK one of these days!

Because of the 20mm flange-to-sensor distance it can be used with ANY lens from C-mount size upwards.

I am waiting for adapters to arrive before testing existing Canon FD, Leitz, Schneider, Rodenstock, Taylor Hobson and specialised machine-vision lenses.

(with a C-mount adapter, the lens protrudes 2.5mm into the body to give a 17.5mm distance)

Just wish it had live HDMI ....
