Fail to load modules using Ver: CHDK 1.1.8-2183

I am getting "fail to load" errors for all modules.   I am new to CHDK and have an older Canon (A610).  I reformatted and copied a full version of CHDK to a 1Gb SIM card.  Every thing seemed to go well.  I am able to get to the CHDK menu and turn on many of the OSD features.  But many features (I believe all features) that require loading a module do not load.   I have tried, for example copying the zebra.fit files from /CHDK/modules/zebra.fit to /modules/zebra.fit and to /zebra.fit. But I always get "Fail to load zebra.fit: File not found". The same thing with fselect.fit if I try to browse the file system (although I only copied it to /modules/fselect.fit).

I wonder if this is a regression for an older camera, or if this is just a noob question.  The similar post I see is http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=6751.msg87825#msg87825 but that was both intermittent and limited to fselect.fit.

My camera is:
Canon PowerShot A610

Firmware Ver GM1.00D

And my CHDK is:
CHDK Ver: CHDK 1.1.8-2183
Revision 0
Date: Aug 26 2012
Time: 04:04:34
Camera: a610
FW Vers: 100e
Compiler: GCC 4.4.3

You do not need to copy or move the modules, they need to stay in the same directory structure as the zip (under CHDK/modules)

If you copied the files using a mac, maybe this applies: http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ/Mac#Still_Having_Trouble.3F

Otherwise I'm not sure what to say. If you can see the files in the CHDK file browser, then you should be able to load them.

this must be 1.1.0-2103, can be hard to tell on the screen.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

If you can see the files in the CHDK file browser, then you should be able to load them.

The file browser is a module - catch 22.

Could be not enough free memory to load the module.
Or possibly a problem with the 'stat' function which is used to see if the module file exists.

I could not see the files in the file browser (since the file browser did not load) and had copied them using a Linux system (although later I copied some new photos off to a mac).  But nevertheless by the end the file tree was corrupted with some missing files (moved but not copied?). In any case, I deleted the CHDK directory and recopied it from the Linux system life became much better.

Thanks for the quick responses. CHDK provides wonderful additions to my camera.
