Title: Largest supported memory card for A460
Post by: regulus on 17 / December / 2013, 16:00:04
Does anyone know what the largest supported memory card on Canon PowerShot A460 is? I've had a 2 GB card with it since the first day. Recently I tried a 32 GB microSD card (in its SD adapter), and it worked (that is, the photos were saved normally, and no complaints were on the screen). Not sure if all of it can be used, but the availability counter was at 1999 (apparently it's the maximum number it can display).

The camera supports SDHC cards. The max. size of such cards is 32 GB.

1999 pictures is the limit of a folder. After that will be created a new folder. The maximum count is 9999. Then will done a reset.

Have you read the camera manual?  ;)

FWIW, if you plan to use CHDK, it appears multi-partition is not supported in this port, so you will be limited to a single 4 GB partition or loading CHDK manually each time.

As a matter of fact, I have. Back in 2008. :D  Although I usually have a pretty good memory, I must have forgotten this part. I guess I never thought I'd use anything more than the 2 GB card in that particular camera.

For now I have CHDK on the 2 GB card. I'll experiment more with the 32 GB when I have more time, I guess loading CHDK manually should be the choice then.
